Australian singer Peter Andre took to the stage on Sunday, November 28, just two days after undergoing an emergency operation to treat "excruciating" stomach pains. The "Mysterious Girl" star was struck down with a mystery illness on Thursday, November 25 night and was taken to hospital, forcing him to cancel the opening date of his U.K. tour on Friday in Plymouth, south-west England.
Concerned medics rushed Andre into the operating theater on Friday for an emergency procedure and he was released on Saturday, November 27 morning. And Andre proved he's back on form by performing for fans in Minehead, south-west England on Sunday, after pushing the show back from its original Saturday schedule.
The rest of the star's tour is expected to continue as planned.
Mark Feehily Struggled to Recover from The Depression
Mark Feehily struggled to recover from the depression he suffered at the height of his fame with Westlife, but insists he's "living proof" why suicide is never the answer. The Irish singer shot to fame with the boy band in 1998 but fell into a downward spiral and became "very unbalanced" after his bandmates teased him about his weight.
He tells Britain's Daily Mail Weekend magazine, "Back then, all I wanted to do was go home for a long, long time. It wasn't all bad, but there were a lot of feelings that started to creep into my mind. I didn't want to be there getting picked apart by everyone. My weight's always fluctuated from chubby to above normal and I didn't like my bad points being pointed out. I didn't think anyone had the right. There was a time I was very unbalanced."
The pop star is relieved he didn't take any drastic measures during his low points, because his life eventually improved - and he's now thrown himself into charity work to help others who are suffering. He adds, "I'm involved in charities in Ireland now. One is called Aware and it is based around suicide, particularly in young kids. It's something that's very close to my heart. I'm not saying I ever planned anything, but you go to quite a deep, dark place and there's no one to turn to."
"I'm lucky. I'm living proof it's better to not choose (suicide), and fight your way through it. But it wasn't easy. I buried my feelings of unhappiness deep inside myself."
Billy Bob Thornton Has Learned to Keep His Mouth Shut about Certain Things
Billy Bob Thornton has learned to keep his mouth shut about certain things when he's chatting to the media - but insists he'll never be rude to the people who publicize his films. The actor has been much maligned for his quirks and comments in the past and now, after a Hollywood hiatus, he's back with a vengeance in new action blockbuster "Faster". But this time, he's choosing his words carefully.
He tells WENN, "We're living in a time in the entertainment business when if you have the opportunity to do something real, it is nice to be able to talk about it. Most movies are about vampires in 3-D or fantasy movies and war eagles, so when you are an actual actor and you want to do real movies and you want to stay grounded over the years we do get to know a lot of the press."
"It's nice to do real work and come in and talk to you guys about it and I haven't always been tight-lipped, so as a result I would get in a sticky situation every now and then. But right now we rely on you guys when we actually do a good movie or a real movie."
"I suppose that there are guys who will not do a movie for three years and talk to anybody and pass you by and won't sign your kids' things, and then a guy like me, who might say a few too many things, but I'm trying and I will sign your kids' things and I will tell you everything about what I thought about that chick or whatever."
"For the most part you guys have been really good to me. When people say, 'I don't like the press and I don't like the fans,' I say, 'The fans are the people who allow my kids to go to school and keep us going, and I can pay for the house'."
"You guys are the people to get it out there, so the fans know what the hell is going on, so we owe you guys and in return if we're gonna be forthcoming and honest with you, you owe us to not twist it."
TV bosses have stepped up security for the finale of "Dancing with the Stars" on Monday night, November 22 after contestant Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Ballas received death threats over the weekend. A mysterious package containing talcum powder arrived for Palin at the show's Hollywood studios on Friday, November 19, prompting a studio evacuation, and now sources tell TMZ.com she and Ballas have been targeted with death threats.
The pair hit the headlines a week ago after show favorite Brandy was voted off. Many TV fans felt Palin should have been the one asked to leave the program. TMZ.com reports producers asked Ballas to stop tweeting about the anti-Palin sentiment - because his actions were merely inciting those keen to harm the daughter of former U.S. vice-president candidate Sarah Palin. Officials at the FBI are still investigating the talcum powder incident.
In related news, "Dirty Dancing" star Jennifer Grey has refused to recreate the film's favorite 'air lift' move on the "Dancing with the Stars" finale after seeking advice from her doctor. The 50-year-old actress briefly considered performing the iconic lift she performed with late co-star Patrick Swayze to boost her chances of winning the show on Tuesday night, November 23 - but medics told her she could seriously injure her neck and back. She says, "Everyone should not expect that."
Daniel Radcliffe Felt Happy Wearing His Female Co-Star's Clothes
Daniel Radcliffe has fueled gossip he's secretly gay by confessing he liked wearing co-star Clemence Poesy's tight-fitting clothes in the latest "Harry Potter" movie "The Deathly Hallows". The French actress' character, Fleur Delacour, drinks a potion to become a Potter double in the hit film - and Radcliffe had to change into her clothes for the gender-bending scene.
And he admits he enjoyed it. The young Brit says, "I was actually quite pleased, and this is only going to add fuel to the fires of the rumor that I'm gay. I don't really care, I'm sort of passed the point of caring... I looked fantastic in Fleur's outfit! I think I looked really good. It was these sort of skin tight trousers... with a clingy top and a nice little cropped blue jacket on top. Really nice... I was really pleased."
Radcliffe goes one step further in the quirky scene - removing Delacour's bra from his own hairy chest.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand Reject to Sell Their Wedding Photos to The Press
Newlyweds Katy Perry and Russell Brand rejected a string of lucrative offers to sell their wedding photos to the press, because they feared it would only lead to further media intrusion into their lives. The "I Kissed a Girl" hitmaker wed the outlandish Brit in a lavish ceremony in India last month and hired burly security guards to keep the paparazzi out.
Brand reveals they were inundated with picture deals from top magazines, but ultimately decided against sharing one of their most intimate moments with the world. The comedian tells U.S. newsman Larry King, "They offered us money to sell the photos, but once you've sold the photos to the wedding, how can you go, 'Oh, give us privacy!' We kept them private and normal."
Katy Perry recently performed "Firework" at the recent American Music Awards.
Reality TV producer Bruce Beresford-Redman was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 16 in connection with the death of his wife. Earlier this year, Mexican prosecutors filed a formal request with U.S. authorities to extradite the "Survivor" boss after he left the country as police investigated the death of his partner Monica.
Her body was found in a sewer near the hotel where the couple was vacationing in April. Beresford-Redman returned to Los Angeles and vowed to fight the extradition request, but was forced to give up custody of his two kids - who were handed to his parents earlier this month.
Now, cops in L.A. have taken the TV chief into custody awaiting a hearing on Wednesday, November 17. According to TMZ.com, the arrest stems from the Mexican extradition request.
For Causing Trouble in a Bar Sebastian Bach Arrested
Rocker Sebastian Bach has been arrested over a "dispute" in a Canadian bar. The former Skid Row star was at a pub in Peterborough, Ontario on Sunday night, November 14 when he allegedly started arguing with the owner and was asked to leave the venue just after midnight.
Bach then tried to leave while carrying a wine glass but when staff confronted him, he reportedly threw the flute at the front door, causing it to smash. TMZ.com reports the owner tried to restrain the rocker, who bit his hand during the struggle.
Bach was detained at the bar until cops arrived to arrested him. They allegedly found he was in possession of two grams of marijuana. Bach was charged with assault, possession of marijuana and mischief and was due in court on Monday, November 15.
"I'm assuming he was offended by the fact that we wouldn't let him sing," said Jim Kakouros, owner of Riley's.
Rihanna Might Become The Latest Person Caught in Bieber Fever
Rihanna might become the latest person caught in Bieber fever after YouTube sensation Justin Bieber showed her more than she might expect for. On Monday, November 15, the "Umbrella" hitmaker wrote on her Twitter page, "Justin Bieber just flashed me his abs in the middle of a restaurant!"
And it seemed that Rihanna enjoyed the graphic glimpse as she teased, "Wow! He actually had a lil 6 pack! Sexy, lol!" However, Rihanna refused to end up receiving death threats from Bieber's devotees just like what happened to Kim Kardashian after the "Baby" hitmaker referred her as his girlfriend. The "What's My Name?" hitmaker sent a plea, "#Beliebersplzdontkillme."
Minutes later, Bieber responded to Rihanna's flashing-abs tweet. The 16-year-old singer wrote, "@rihanna never that. Its always love," and posted a picture of him and Rihanna, who sported her long new hair-do, standing next to each other.
Rihanna is releasing her newest record "Loud" on Tuesday, November 16. She marked her album release with a performance on MTV's "The Seven". Meanwhile, Bieber is about to out his unplugged album "My Worlds Acoustic" on Friday, November 26.
N.E.R.D's Shay Haley Has Married The Former Girlfriend
N.E.R.D star Shay Haley has married the former girlfriend of murdered American footballer Sean Taylor. The musician walked down the aisle with Jackie Mofett, the niece of actor Andy Garcia, in Miami, Florida on Saturday, November 13.
Haley's bandmate Pharrell Williams was the best man at the ceremony, according to TMZ, while R&B star Chris Brown performed at the nuptials.
The happy day comes three years after Garcia's then-partner Taylor was shot by thieves at his home in Florida. He later died in hospital.
Sharon Osbourne Caused Her Son Jack Osbourne to Cower in Embarrassment
Rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne caused her son Jack Osbourne to cower in embarrassment at the weekend, November 14, when she vomited during a posh dinner at a hotel owned by one of his close pals. Jack Osbourne treated his mum to a special meal at a top Hollywood hotel on Sunday and they were given VIP treatment upon their arrival at the venue.
But the mother-and-son date ended in disaster when Sharon suddenly fell ill and spewed vomit across the table after finishing her soup. Explaining the incident on her daytime chat show "The Talk", she says, "It was a great weekend but Sunday, Jack had arranged for me to go to his friend's hotel in Hollywood."
"Jack's been telling me about the rooftop garden there, he says it's like a hummingbird sanctuary and it's filled with birds and the food is really good and I've been promising to go. So Sunday he took me and when we got there there was a little table for us. The owner of the hotel came out to greet us and make sure everything was OK."
"Then the chef came out and asked what we wanted and he said, 'And I'm preparing special desserts for you'. So immediately I'm like, 'Right, I'm ready!' And it was all just absolutely lovely. And from nowhere, absolutely nowhere, I suddenly turned into the Exorcist, because I projectile (sic) across the restaurant. Jack got sprayed. The candle went out and it was smoking."
"Jack was like, 'Mum!' and he was trying to get it (vomit) off the floor... I have no idea (why) but I think I'm coming down with something. I'd only had clam chowder."
John Travolta's Pregnant Wife Kelly Preston Is Not in Labor
John Travolta's pregnant wife Kelly Preston is not in labor just yet. A rep for John has debunked report suggesting the actor cut short his trip to Australia after learning that Preston was in labor, telling people "This story is 100 percent false."
"She's not in labor. John is in route back to the U.S. as was always the plan for him to return this weekend," the rep added. John and Kelly, who announced the pregnancy back in May, are due to welcome their baby boy later this month.
John jetted back to the U.S. after flying his personal Boeing 707 to Sydney on Monday, November 8 as a special guest at Qantas' 90th anniversary celebration. The "Wild Hogs" star recently said that he wants to be by Kelly's side for the birth.
John shared, "When I left, she was having what they call Braxton Hicks, the fake labor, and we were both a little worried... I'm ready to go at any minute, if she started having labor now we would leave and take 22 hours to get home, but I'll get there."
John Travolta and Kelly Preston, who got married in September 1991, are already parents to 10-year-old daughter Ella Bleu Travolta. Meanwhile, their son, Jett Travolta, died at 16 years old of a seizure in January 2009. Kelly previously told People that their daughter Ella is "looking forward to being a big sister" and has been helping "cleaning out everything in the house" for the soon-to-be born brother.
Robert Pattinson and Jason Statham Not Fight Over Kristen Stewart in Bar
A rep for Jason Statham has debunked swirling rumor that the "Transporter 3" actor was entangled in a bar fight with Robert Pattinson over his rumored lover Kristen Stewart. And as the rumor mentioned that Jason and Robert had the alleged rift in an L.A. bar, the rep added that Jason isn't in L.A. for a while now.
The bar fight story was run by Hollywood Life after picking up Us Weekly report. With a headline saying "Robert Pattinson Gets In Bar Fight With Action Star Protecting Kristen Stewart!", the site noted, "US Weekly reports that after actor Jason Statham hit on girlfriend Kristen at an L.A. bar, Rob stepped in."
The site went on quoting a pal as saying, "Jason is totally jacked and Rob is scrawny. But Rob said, 'I think you've had enough time with her.' They got heated." However, before things reportedly got out of control, bouncers were said stepping in to stop the two actors.
Spandau Ballet's Frontman Turns Down Offer to Swap Music for Politics
Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley has repeatedly turned down offers to swap music for politics because he will never give up life on the stage. The singer has been approached by representatives of Britain's Conservative party, who have attempted to persuade him to stand as a parliamentary candidate.
Hadley admits that although he is interested in politics, he has rejected the offers as he's convinced he has more influence as a pop star. He tells Britain's Daily Telegraph, "I have been asked to stand as an MP (Member of Parliament) for the Tories (the Conservative party) so many times."
"I can't do it because my life is music. I'm a very political person and I have some strong opinions, but I can make more of a difference to politics doing what I do and making my opinions known to people."
Jason Isaacs Thinks Humble 'Potter' Actors as Wild American Actors
British actor Jason Isaacs has heaped praise on Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson for staying "grounded" and "humble" since finding fame as youngsters - because he's seen so many "corrupted" American child stars rebel.
Radcliffe, 21, and 20-year-old Watson, along with Rupert Grint and Tom Felton, were cast as the leading young stars in the "Harry Potter" franchise in 2000, and have gone on to star in all the movies since. Away from their big screen adventures, Watson is currently studying at America's prestigious Brown university, while Radcliffe has enjoyed stage roles on Broadway and London's West End.
Isaacs is convinced the secret to their continued success is their grounded start in the Potter movies - and he's pleased they have avoided the fate of many troubled former child actors. He tells WENN, "I've known some child stars in America who've been enjoying films and then the world has really corrupted them because they're exposed."
"These guys (the Harry Potter stars) have been behind closed doors in this big family at least, making these films for a decade. They're emerging fully formed. They're adults, they're grounded, they're humble, they're really talented and they're a tribute to everyone who's been surrounding them, and their families. They're old enough and solid enough that nothing will knock them off their feet."
Kanye West's Interview with Matt Lauer Earlier This Week Turned Sour
Although Kanye West's interview with Matt Lauer earlier this week turned sour, the rapper was reportedly coached before the sit down. Los Angeles Times reported that West hired the public relations firm Rubenstein Communications to prep him on his response to former U.S President George W. Bush.
According to the site, West's team contacted the "Today" show on Monday, November 8, seeking to arrange interview to respond to Bush's NBC interview during which the former President took aim at West's comment after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 against him. In the interview, Bush called West's racial allegation against him "one of the most disgusting moments" of his presidency.
And to make sure that his comment about Bush was communicated effectively, West turned to Rubenstein, a firm that represents numerous celebrity. However, after West's personal handlers and Rubenstein watched Bush's prime-time interview on Monday, they decided to cancel the "Today" chat that night because the former President did not say much that warranted a response from West.
Yet, for unknown reason, West's team contacted "Today" show on the next morning, Tuesday, November 9 and told them that the interview was back on without the knowledge of the Rubenstein coach, who according to the site had to hustle to NBC's studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza to help his client and his team. The site further mentioned that following West's rift with "Today", he and the firm are no longer working together.
During the interview, West lashed out to host Lauer over the practice of showing footage of Bush's interview as well as a clip of him interrupting Taylor Swift at the 2009 Video Music Awards during interviews while he was trying to respond to Lauer's questions. The rapper has since canceled his performance at TV show on November 26.
Sarah Jessica Parker Could Not Stop Colleague From Being Fired
Sarah Jessica Parker's new job as president of fashion brand Halston is proving to be a tough challenge. The star has lost a battle to stop board members from firing a top-level executive.
The fashion-forward star, who is also the face of the brand, was named the Chief Creative Officer in January this year. Sources tell the New York Post Parker was "in tears" at Halston's New York offices last week after learning chief executive officer Bonnie Takhar had been let go.
Takhar had been with Halston since the brand's relaunch in 2007, but insiders say creative differences within the company led to her dismissal. Halston board member and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein says in a statement, "Sarah Jessica is a huge supporter of Bonnie's, but it was time to change direction. It was the rest of the board that made the decision. No one was more steadfast to Bonnie than Sarah Jessica."
A spokesperson for Parker has declined to comment on the report.
Terri Seymour Says Simon Cowell Will Tease Her Boyfriend
Simon Cowell's ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour is apprehensive about introducing the music mogul to her new lover- because she's convinced the "American Idol" star will make fun of him. The couple dated for more than six years until Seymour ended the relationship in 2008 because of Cowell's failure to commit.
He went on to propose to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy, while she has been dating French hotel manager Olivier Lordonnais since 2009. Seymour admits she's much happier with Lordonnais as he is a lot more relaxed than workaholic Cowell, but she won't be organising a meeting for the two men in her life anytime soon.
She tells Britain's Grazia magazine, "(Olivier's) very French, utterly charismatic and funny. The accent helps. It also helps that he's not in showbusiness. Being European he's all about the food and the wine and time off. He looks at me running around and says, 'What are you doing? Why aren't you having more fun? More free time? More wine?' "
"(I've not introduced them) because Simon will tease him so much. I will need to brief Olivier and tell him word for word what Simon will say to him. Then I need to write the script for what he has to say back. I know Simon - but I also know Simon will like him."
Francis Ford Coppola Afraid Academy Call Would Be Bad News
Francis Ford Coppola held off returning a phone call from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences when officials contacted him about an upcoming honor - because he feared the message would be bad news. The "Godfather" director will be feted at the organization's second annual Governors Awards on Sunday, November 14 when he collects the coveted Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award for his work as a producer.
But Coppola admits he was keen to delay calling the Academy back because he is overcome with nerves whenever friends in the industry reach out to him unexpectedly. He says, "Well, I am always nervous when I get a phone call from folks where I am living. (It's a) 'Why are they calling me?' kind of thing and 'Who's sick?' or 'Who's passed away?' But it was happy news."
And the filmmaker is honored to have been selected to receive the top accolade for his production credits, reports the Associated Press. He adds, "It is sort of the ultimate award for producing. I've been a writer, a director and I have gotten more than my share of those honors. The Thalberg award for me is kind of a trifecta."
Coppola will join film historian Kevin Brownlow, director Jean-Luc Godard and actor Eli Wallach as an honoree at the pre-Oscars event.
Taylor Momsen has taken aim at her parents in a hard-hitting new interview, insisting they're the reason she's so dark and miserable. The gloomy "Gossip Girl" star, who is now making her name in the rock world as the singer with cult band The Pretty Reckless, has blamed her parents for robbing her of her childhood.
The teenager says, "Everyone's like, 'Wow, why is she upset and why is she so miserable about things?' My parents signed me up with Ford (modeling agency) at the age of two. No two year old wants to be working, but I had no choice."
"My whole life, I was in and out of school. I didn't have friends. I was working constantly and I didn't have a real life."
The Saturdays to Stop Traffic in London's Trafalgar Square
British girl group The Saturdays are set to stop traffic in London's Trafalgar Square on Thursday, November 11 to commemorate fallen soldiers. The pop band will bring the U.K. capital to a standstill at 10.58 A.M., when all traffic lights around the busy tourist attraction will turn red and members of the Armed Forces will hold up signs asking drivers to observe two minutes of silence on the memorial day.
The five-piece will also perform their song "Here Standing", and members of the public are invited to scatter red poppy flowers in the square's famous fountains in honor of servicemen and women lost at war.
The Saturdays star Frankie Sandford says, "We are so proud to have played such a big role in this year's (Remembrance) appeal. We have the greatest respect for our Armed Forces and feel deeply they should be supported and remembered."
Ricky Martin Would Introduce His Partner at A Red Carpet Event
After admitting that he is gay back in May, Ricky Martin has now promised public that he would introduce his partner at a red carpet event. "We'll walk onto the red carpet together I guess," the "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer told U.S. newsman Larry King on Tuesday, November 9.
Martin, who bares his personal life including his sexuality in new memoir "Me", told King that he has been "in a relationship" and he is "very happy." The 38-year-old star shared, "It's usually very overwhelming to start a relationship... and to be in a relationship with Ricky Martin."
"It gets a little bit more overwhelming for some reason now at this moment in my life when I am presenting my book and everything," he went on. "But you know, we're not afraid of anything, we're not hiding anything."
Martin even admitted that he wants to make his union with his mystery lover official. "I would get married... There are many countries around the world where same-sex marriage is a right. Not in Puerto Rico, unfortunately. And not in many states in America," the singer who will celebrate his birthday next month said.
Although saying that he could wed in Spain or Argentina, Martin is still upset with the lack of the options he has. "Why do we have to go somewhere else? Why can't I do it in my country where the laws are - you know, protecting me?" he mused.
"I can go to Spain. I have many friends in Spain. And get married. And make it very beautiful and symbolic. But... I (can't) do it in the backyard of my house," Martin continued. "I want to have that option. I don't want to be a second class citizen anymore. I pay my taxes. Why can't I have that right?"
Beside talking about his partner and his dream to get married with the loved one, Martin also told King he has been a victim of online bullies ever since he came out. "I am bullied today... It's very weird because, you know, I'm a Twitter fan. And I check my messages all the time, and you can get 100 messages of love. And you're very happy. And then you get that one message of a hater (sic) and... if you're (having) a bad day it ruins your afternoon. It's so sad that there is still hate out there," Martin said.
